Bills are due upon receipt. Late charges will be assessed to any account not paid in full by 4:30 pm on the 6th of each month. If the 6th falls on a weekend and/or holiday, payment must be received in our office no later than 4:30 pm or paid online by 3 pm on the next regularly scheduled business day.
The two drop boxes out front and in the vestibule of Town Hall are emptied Monday through Friday promptly at 8 am and 4:30 pm. Any payments put in the boxes after 4:30 pm on the 6th (or the next scheduled business day if the 6th falls on a weekend or holiday) are considered late and will be assessed penalties.
Effective August/September 2021, the utility late fee is 5% of the unpaid account balance. The town also offers Budget Billing throughout the year to qualifying customers.
Signing up for Service
To sign up for utility services, residential customers must complete an Application for Utility Service. Businesses or Builders must complete an Application for Business Services. There is a non-refundable application fee, so please verify services at your address before submission. Customers are also required to pay a deposit when signing up for service. For new businesses, please contact the Business Office for the deposit amount.
The town offers Direct Debit for utility payments. We also offer online payments for a fee. Online payment convenience fees are as follows:
- Credit Cards (utility bills): $4.95
- Credit Cards (tax bills): 3%
For customers who may be watering lawns, washing vehicles, or using large amounts of water, a second water meter may be purchased at Town Hall (please call for a price). Once the meter has been installed (The Town does not install the yard meter) and calibrated, customers would only be charged for water usage only.
