Smyrna's trash contractor is Waste Industries. They have been in business for over 43 years and are recognized as a leader in the garbage industry. Waste Industries operates out of Townsend, DE.
All trash must be placed curbside in order to be picked up. Please have containers out on the curb the night before service or no later than 6 a.m. on pickup day. Collection times are between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Bulk items will be picked up with trash but need to be called into the Business Office in advance. Waste Industries will remove carpet and padding if it is cut into lengths no more than 4 feet and securely tied into bundles. The bundles should weigh no more than 50 pounds each.

, construction debris to include materials from contractors or renovations, paint, chemicals, tires, batteries, or items containing gasoline, kerosene, or Freon. These items
be mixed in with regular trash.

When one of these holiday's falls during a week day, Waste Industries will operate the remainder of the week one day behind our normal schedule.
The Town of Smyrna also has a spring and fall clean-up week each year. They are advertised on our website, in the Smyrna / Clayton Sun Times, and on electric bills well in advance.
