Tropical Storm Isaias
Process to Repair Property/Structure Damage
Dear Resident:
Tropical Storm Isaias impacted many in our community and the Town wants to try to outline how to simply and effectively ensure you can return to some normalcy sooner rather than later. We are asking for your help to ensure repairs are completed properly, and we are here to make the process efficient and effective for you during these challenging times.
Immediately after the storm passed, staff from the Planning & Inspections Department were on site throughout the Town performing rapid structural assessments of properties with visible damage. We were able to speak directly with many residents as we performed these tasks; however, we were not able to speak with everyone affected. If we did not speak with you directly or if you are not sure if we visited your property, please feel free to reach out to the Planning & Inspections staff at (302) 653-3486 and we will make sure to visit and document any damage you may have incurred and answer your questions. Below you will find a list of next steps that should be taken before any work is completed, except for emergency weatherproofing. We are asking that you:
We recognize that each impacted property is different than the next. The goal of our team is to support you in the time of need and be as flexible as legally possible to allow for quick, but proper, repairs to your homes and property.
Sincerely,
Planning & Inspections Team
