Blocking Visibility at Intersections

Visibility Blocked at Intersection

The Town of Smyrna’s Zoning Ordinance prohibits property owners from blocking visibility at intersections. An area measuring along the curb lines extending 25 feet in both directions connected by a diagonal line must be kept clear.

Nothing shall be erected, placed, planted or allowed to grow in such a manner as to impede vision between a height of two and a half and ten feet above the height of the street.

Loan and Grant Funding Available for Home Repair Projects


Acting Delaware & Maryland Director for Rural Development Kathy Beisner announced that homeowners in rural areas who need repairs to their home but can’t afford regular loans may be eligible for a USDA Rural Development loan at only 1% interest.

Seniors, age 62 and older, may qualify for free home repairs up to $7,500 through the USDA Rural Development grant program.
