PPAC Rate Change

Grilling Safety Tips

According to the National Fire Protection Association, fire departments respond to an average of 7,900 home fires involving grills, hibachis, and barbecues each year. One-third of these fires start on an exterior balcony or unenclosed porch.

  • Propane and charcoal BBQ grills should only be used outdoors.

Loan and Grant Funding Available for Home Repair Projects

USDA

Acting Delaware & Maryland Director for Rural Development Kathy Beisner announced that homeowners in rural areas who need repairs to their home but can’t afford regular loans may be eligible for a USDA Rural Development loan at only 1% interest.

Seniors, age 62 and older, may qualify for free home repairs up to $7,500 through the USDA Rural Development grant program.
